Village head arrested on vote buying charges

05.07.2021 | 19:00The head of the village of Karahunj in Syunik Province has been arrested and charged with vote buying, Armenia’s Special Investigations Service reported.
According to the Service, he has paid sums equal to about US $200-400 to several residents of the village to vote for the Armenia bloc of former President Robert Kocharyan in the June 20 parliamentary election.
An investigation is underway.
