Aliyev, Erdogan, Putin and Lukashenko in new list of “enemies of press freedom”

05.07.2021 | 17:25Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has published its new list of “enemies of press freedom” that now includes the leaders of Azerbajan, Turkey, Russian and Belarus Ilham Aliyev, Rejep Erdogan, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. It has also added Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to the list, and it is for the time a European head of state has appeared on the list.
In total, 37 heads of government are listed in what RSF has termed its “Predators Gallery.”
Two Asian female leaders, Carrie Lam of Hong Kong and Sheika Hasina of Bangladesh, are also counted among the “enemies of press freedom.”
Lam, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are new to the list, which has been published since 2001.
