A motion was submitted to detain five of the 10 prisoners who returned to Armenia on December 4, the press secretary of the Investigative Committee, Vardan Tadevosyan, told Sputnik Armenia news agency.
“They have been arrested at the moment, a motion has been submitted to detain them. Currently, court hearings are underway,” Tadevosyan said, adding that they will provide additional information in the future.
The returned prisoners are charged with violating the rules of military duty or military service, which caused severe consequences.
On December 4, Azerbaijan handed over to Armenia 10 Armenian servicemen captured during the battles on the border on November 16. They were brought to Armenia by Russian General Rustam Muradov.
