EU foreign ministers will discuss EaP policies

18.10.2021 | 14:28Strengthening EU cooperation with post-Soviet countries participating in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) program and Strengthening Europe’s role in the Persian Gulf region will be high on the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg on Monday, SWI reported.
“The foreign ministers will come up with ideas for a ministerial meeting, the Eastern Partnership summit, and future EU-EaP cooperation projects,” a senior EU official told a briefing. He reminded that the EU-EaP meeting at the level of foreign ministers should take place in November, and the summit in December. The purpose of the meetings is to further strengthen the Eastern Partnership countries with the EU, both economically and politically.
On Monday, the ministers will focus on the EaP countries’ recovery, resilience and reforms following the COVID-19 the epidemic in Luxembourg. In particular, solidarity with Eastern partners in the provision of vaccines.
