SIS to investigate former President Sargsyan’s frequent visits to German resort

Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has received a report regarding alleged waste of government funds by former Presiden Serzh Sargsyan during his presidency in conection with his visits to resort town of Baden-Baden, Germany.
The report was readdressed to the Special Investigation Service. As SIS spokeswoman Marina Ohanjanyan told Factor.am, relevant papers are currently collected for an investigation.
On September 15, the Fact-Finding Platform published an investigation, according to which former President Serzh Sargsyan frequently traveled to the German city of Baden-Baden on government plane and at the expense of the government during his 10 years in office. According to the investigation, Sargsyan has visited the German resort city more than 16 times during his ten years in office. The platform, presenting facts, claims that the third president was in Baden-Baden immediately after the end of the four-day war in April 2016, on April 5. According to the investigation, Sargsyan used the official visit to Germany scheduled for April 6 and 7 to visit Baden-Baden again.
