Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili may resign. This was reported by Georgian opposition TV Pirveli, citing a source in the ruling Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party, Sputnik Georgia reports.

According to the source, Gharibashvili may once again be deprived of the post of the head of the government due to the defeat in the local self-government elections in the regions. Local elections in Georgia were held on October 2. According to the preliminary data of the Central Electoral Commission, the second round of mayoral elections will be held in 20 cities on October 30. According to the source, Gharibashvili may be replaced by the current Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Irakli Karseladze, who is considered to be the proxy of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the “Georgian Dream”.
