US president promises assistance in assuring country’s security

US President Joe Biden received Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at the White House on Wednesday. He promised that the United States would continue to support Ukraine’s territorial integrity, as well as assist Kiev in ensuring the country’s security. President Zelensky has expressed concern about what it means for Americans to leave Kabul in terms of continued US support for its allies.
“After Biden declared that the United States had no national interests in Afghanistan, Zelensky wondered if the Americans now had interests in Ukraine,” the BBC correspondent in Washington wrote. Biden, however, firmly promised to support Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression.
