Armenian National Security Service has said that Armenian border guards and the border guards of the Russian Federal Security Service are holding talks with the Azerbaijani side on reopening the Goris-Vorotan and Shurnukh-Karmrakar sections of the Goris-Kapan interstate road closed since August 26.

NSS says the State Border Guard Service of Azerbaijan has told the Armenian side that one of their posts had been attacked and that the NSS border troops are carrying out operative-investigative measures on the information provided by the Azerbaijani side.

“Work is underway to reopen the road,” the NSS said in a statement.
