Russian peacekeepers are currently on patrol in the village of Yeghtsahogh in the Shushi region, Yeghtsahogh village mayor Artak Hakobyan told Factor.am.

He said the Azerbaijani army has withdrawn about 2 km, relocated to their former bases, in turn the soldiers of the Defense Army have withdrawn about 3 km.

It is noteworthy, however, that Deputy Chief of the General Staff Edvard Asryan denied the information about the withdrawal of Armenian forces when speaking to journalists on August 18. He said the Armenian armed forces in Artsakh stand in the areas where they were as of November 9.

Yeghtsahogh, Hin Shen and Mets Shen are among the villages of Shushi region, which remained under Armenian control after the end of the war. In December last year, Armenian forces were withdrawn from the village of Hin Shen and replaced by Russian peacekeepers. The latter also carry out patrol service in Mets Shen community.
