Mkhitar Zakaryan, a former mayor of Meghri and MP from the Armenia faction of the National Assembly, will remain detained as the Criminal Court of Appeal upheld d the ruling of the Court of First Instance.

After the early parliamentary elections, former Meghri mayor Mkhitar Zakaryan was charged with abusing office and not disclosing the information about being a dual citizen.
