On July 23, at around 5:00 pm, Azerbaijani troops opened fire at the Armenian positions in the Gegharkunik section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. It was preceded by shootings in the Azerbaijani combat posts, which may be due to an interpersonal incident between the Azerbaijani military. The fact that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense mentions in its release that an Azerbaijani soldier was killed after the fire opened by the Armenian side speaks about it. The Armenian Ministry of Defense states that it did not take counter-action until the moment when the Azeri troops opened fire at the Armenian positions. As a result of another Azerbaijani provocation, 3 servicemen of the Armenia Armed Forces were wounded. Their lives are not in danger. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia strongly condemns the provocation of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. The entire responsibility for the aggravation of the situation falls on the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan.
