Serviceman killed in border skirmish is 38-year-old contract soldier; several servicemen missing

On the morning of July 14, Samvel Alaverdyan, born in 1983, a contract soldier of the RA Armed Forces, was fatally wounded by a provocation carried out by the Azerbaijani armed forces on the Yeraskh section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported. “The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the grief of the loss; expresses support to the family members, relatives and colleagues of the deceased serviceman.”
Factor.am was informed by the General Staff that there are missing servicemen. An official statement will be made later.
