In response to the Armenian Genocide anniversary, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Office of Information and Communication opened an exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey, about diplomats “killed by Armenian terrorists.”

Fahrettin Altun, the head of the public relations department of Erdogan’s staff, made an anti-Armenian speech at the exhibition. Recently, YouTube removed the video of Altun’s speech, noting that it contains hatred speech, ermenihaber wrote. This decision caused a stir in Turkey and greatly upset Altun. Commenting on the incident, Altun took to Twitter to protest against YouTube, stressing that the decision to remove the video was hypocritical; the company was guided by double standards.

“YouTube, which ignores hate speech against Islam and Muslims, easily paves the way for the propaganda of terrorist organizations, considers what we say about the criminal terrorists who killed our Turkish diplomats a hate crime. Like it or not, we will say on every occasion that terrorism has no religion, language or race. We once again noted that in every field, as well as in the field of media and communication, we need local-national platforms. “Long live the truth,” he wrote.

Hinting at the need to create “local-national media platforms”, Altun indirectly boycotted the YouTube video portal.
