Former president in court again
The trial of Former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the owner of the Flash company, Barsegh Beglaryan, resumed today in a Yerevan court.
The prosecutor voiced the final part of the indictment. Sargsyan plead not guilty, calling the trial “a political persecution ordered by the regime.”
The other defendants, Barsegh Beglaryan, Gevorg Harutyunyan, too pleaded not guilty
Two other defendants in this case, Sergo Karapetyan and Samvel Galstyan have died from the coronavirus. According to media reports, the accusation is based Karapetyan’s testimony.
The group is charged with embezzlement of an amount equal to about USD 1 million from the state budget.
