The State Revenue Committee Anti-Smuggling department has revealed the largest case of drug trafficking through Armenia in the last 7 years. As a result of the customs control carried out in one of the customs warehouses in Yerevan, a particularly large batch of heroin, 33 boxes, was found in the 18600 kg cargo declared as yeast.
The market value of heroin weighing about 365 kilograms, including packaging, is about $ 45 million. A criminal case has been initiated in the SRC Investigation Department in accordance with Articles 267.1 and 266 of the RA Criminal Code. 6 people with different citizenships were arrested.
The SRC Anti-Smuggling Department urges citizens to refrain from criminal drug transfer schemes, warns that the department 24/7 fights against international drug trafficking, always being one step ahead of offenders.
