The urgent discussion on issues related to the fate of prisoners of war, hostages, missing persons, other detainees, initiated by the opposition factions, was interrupted at the National Assembly, which was held behind closed doors.
National Assembly’s Armenia faction MP Anna Grigoryan told reporters the reasons why the opposition MPs left the discussion.
“This is one of the key issues for our political team, but we see how the political majority treats these issues. The discussion was closed, we had demanded that Nikol Pashinyan, the minister of foreign affairs, the head of the National Security Service, the defense minister attend the discussion. None of them was present,” Grigoryan said.
She added that, before the beginning of the discussion, a video was disseminated on the Internet, where the person holding the post of NA Speaker says that the captives simply do not exist for him, do not exist, are deserters.
“Now a question arises: is this only Alen Simonyan’s personal position or the actual position of the Civil Contract party?” Grigoryan asked.
She added that a process to impeach Simonyan will be initiated.
