29.11.2021 | 14:55Right now, thousands of people in Armenia and Artsakh are living under dangerous and constant threats from their neighbors, at the same time mourning the loss of countless people – their neighbors, family members, loved ones who are killed, captured, deported, tortured or illegally arrested. Right now, thousands of people in Armenia and Artsakh are living under dangerous and constant threats from their neighbors, US Congressman Adam Schiff said at the Armenian National Committee conference.
“As a co-chair of the Armenian caucus in the Congress, I will not rest until we return home the prisoners, until the refugees return to their homes, and bring final and just peace to the region,” he added.
Schiff said that they will continue to work with the Armenian National Committee of America to support and strengthen democracy in Armenia, in Artsakh, to deepen ties between the United States and the people of Armenia.
“I will always stand by the people of Armenia and Artsakh,” he said. He also reminded about the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by US President Joe Biden.
“This year we had a moment of progress when President Biden broke decades of shameful silence by recognizing the Armenian Genocide. But our work is far from being over,” Schiff said.
