03.11.2021 | 16:01The deployment of Azerbaijanis in the territory of the Republic of Armenia is illegal, we are talking about all the places where they try to strengthen their positions, Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan said today when presidenting his report.
“The point is that their deployment was not done on the basis of any international document,” he said.
Tatoyan presented clear examples on the maps. Tatoyan added that almost all the pastures of Nerkin Khndzoresk, the entire livelihood of the residents are under Azerbaijani control. People cannot use those areas, engage in agriculture. The presence of the Azerbaijani armed forces is first and foremost a violation of the right to life. The normal life of people in the village of Davit Bek is also fundamentally disrupted. There are cases where people have damaged their gardens.
He also showed photos taken by his office at the settlements of Gegharkunik and Syunik regions taken by the Azerbaijani troops before May 12. He said people in Verin Shorzha live with their families, animals, and the Azerbaijani military is positioned very close to that area.
“There is another problem here. There is a pool from which irrigation water is formed, like drinking water. This is also under the control of the Azerbaijani troops. Because of the presence of Azeris in Gegharkunik, we have villages where there is no water at all,” Tatoyan added.
