Ethnic Armenian to become district head for first time in Turkish Republic’s history

29.10.2021 | 18:21For the first time in the history of the Turkish Republic, a representative of the Armenian community, lawyer Berk Adjar, has been allowed to become the head of the administrative district. He successfully passed all the necessary exams for that, the Armenian publication Agos reported. It is expected that Adjar will assume the office in the near future.
Adjar was born in Istanbul in 1995, studied at the Armenian Sahakyan-Nunyan secondary school and Ishik lyceum. He graduated from the Bilgi University in 2020 and speaks English.
