Handover of Sanasar and Kovsakan had nothing to do with Nov. 9 statement – MP
The handover of the village of Sanasar (Kubatlu) and the town of Kovsakan (Zangelan) in the Kashatagh region of the Artsakh Republic to Azerbaijan had nothing to do with the trilateral statement signed on November 9, PM Tigran Abrahamyan of the I Have Honor faction said at the parliament briefings.
“Those territories were also under our control on November 9, they were not subject to surrender under any circumstances. During the handover, the details of the Goris-Kapan road were not even negotiated,” Abrahamyan said.
Referring to the leadership’s statements that in case of non-surrender there would be a war, Abrahamyan noted that by the same logic Azerbaijan may want Armenia to hand over Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Meghri. He if such a principle is used, there is no chance to succeed in any issue.
