13.09.2021 | 19:01Traffic jams have blocked the movement of Iranian trucks on the Goris-Kapan road. As reported earlier, the Azerbaijani police have set up a checkpoint in that area, allowing Iranian trucks to move on only after passing inspections and making payments. “The checkpoint has been operating since last Friday. If they don’t pay, they are not allowed to pass their again. They pay $30 for a transaction, $130 for using the road, $60 for large trucks, and $500 for transportation of fuel,” said Goris Deputy Mayor Karo Kocharyan, emphasizing that he had just returned from the mentioned section. He said there is no alternative road for trucks.
“Iranian trucks with large loads cannot go through the alternative road in Tatev that is under construction,” Kocharyan said.
