OSCE MG observation mission can be an alternative- PM Pashinyan

12.08.2021 | 12:53We consider it acceptable the call of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to refrain from provocative actions and statements, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the beginning of the cabinet meeting.
“Obviously, the fulfillment of this condition is of key importance for creating a favorable negotiation atmosphere. If the issue of delaying provocative statements is not a big problem, the issue of the party initiating the provocative actions and ceasefire violations is always a source of debate. I have said before, and now I think that the identification of the party initiating the ceasefire violations, the targeted condemnation of this provocative act, is essential for the further de-escalation and stabilization of the situation,” Pashinyan said. He added that such a function is difficult to imagine without the launch of an international monitoring mechanism.
“In my July 29 speech, I also referred to this issue, saying that I think it should be a CSTO observation mission, and if it is not acceptable for the CSTO, the alternative remains the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs observation mission,” he concluded.
