29.07.2021 | 18:14Speaking about the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas has said that any use of force is unacceptable.
“On the night of July 28, 2021, clashes took place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as a result of which three servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces were killed and four others wounded,” Zas said in a statement posted on the organization’s website. “I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wish the wounded a speedy recovery.”
“The danger of further escalation in the region is a matter of serious concern, which may have a negative impact on the implementation of the trilateral agreements set out in the November 10, 2020 statement of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia. We consider the use of force unacceptable. Only political-diplomatic methods should be used to resolve conflicts. I welcome Russia’s efforts to stabilize the situation in the region,” the statement goes on saying.
