Negotiations between Armenian and Russian sides planned in Moscow; no trilateral meeting scheduled

28.07.2021 | 19:05According to information obtained by Factor.am, a trilateral meeting with the participation of the defense ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan is not planned today.
Yesterday, on July 27, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Arshak Karapetyan met with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu. It is not yet known what the parties discussed during the closed meeting. Armenian-Russian talks are planned in Moscow in the near future.
On July 26, Sergey Shoigu and Arshak Karapetyan also had a telephone conversation. The parties discussed issues related to security in the South Caucasus.
On July 28, at around 3:40 am, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces once again resorted to provocation, violating the ceasefire in the north-eastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. According to official information, the Armenian side has three victims and five wounded. With the mediation of the Russian side, Armenia and Azerbaijan stopped the fire at 10:00. At the moment, the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively calm.
