07.07.2021 | 13:08The shootings of the Azerbaijani soldiers near the village of Verin Shorzha prove that the very presence of Azeri troops on the roads near the Armenian border villages is a violation of the right to life of the the residents, Armenia’s Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan has said in his personal Facebook page.
With regards to the July 5 shooting, the Office of the Ombudsman has found out that the Azeris had opened fire from the positions that are located in the sovereign territory of Armenia.
These areas are the pastures of Vardenis community, where people live. In those places the inhabitants of the communities are also engaged in agriculture. Due to the Azerbaijani shootings, the civilians are either unable to use the mentioned areas at all or their use is very limited.
Azerbaijani soldiers carry out similar acts (shootings, theft of animals, obstruction of lawns, etc.) in the vicinity of both Gegharkunik and Syunik communities, Tatoyan goes on saying.
