30.03.2021 | 11:35The vaccine against COVID-19 from the Anglo-Swedish company AstraZeneca has been renamed Vaxzevria since March 25. This is stated on the website of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). According to the Swedish Health Products Agency, the change of the name will not cause any other changes, but vaccination professionals should be aware of the renaming, as product information, labeling, and packaging may be different. Most likely, these changes were registered against the background of the information that appeared in March, that people develop dangerous complications after being vaccinated with this vaccine. A person vaccinated in Austria was diagnosed with multiple thromboses. He died 10 days after receiving the first dose of the vaccine. Another person was hospitalized due to a pulmonary embolism. Later, such information began to be received from other European countries. Some EU countries have decided to stop vaccinating with this vaccine.
