Congressman Frank Pallone has said that the 2022 defense budget signed by US President Joe Biden contains important provisions aimed at holding Azerbaijan and Turkey accountable for war crimes committed in Artsakh.

“The NDAA that President Biden signed yesterday includes important provisions aimed at holding Azerbaijan & Turkey accountable for the war crimes they committed in Artsakh. I will push to ensure the required reports are accurate in documenting these crimes,” Pallone tweeted.

Factor.am previously reported that Article 1302 of the draft US defense budget program refers to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. It states that the US Department of Defense must submit a report on the 44-day war, which must include information on the involvement of foreign actors in the conflict, including descriptions of hostilities, operations, sales of foreign military equipment, and foreign diplomatic involvement prior, during and after to the conflict, as well as on the efforts of the parties to the conflict to hire foreign militants during the conflict or to involve private military organizations.
