US, Russia to hold talks on arms control

According to the White House, US and Russia will hold talks on arms control on January 10. The topic of the talks is Ukraine. A meeting of the Russia-NATO Council will be held on January 12, and the next day – talks between Russia and OSCE representatives, BBC Russian Service reported.
In recent weeks, Western countries have accused Russia of plotting a new invasion into Ukraine. According to US and NATO leaders, Moscow is concentrating troops on the borders of Ukraine, its actions indicate the preparation of an offensive operation. In response to such allegations, Russia states that the movement of troops on its territory should not disturb anyone, but emphasizes that it has the right to protect its national security.
