Armenian, Azeri public figures meet in Moscow

24.12.2021 | 21:35The public representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia held the first meeting after the Nagorno Karabakh war in Moscow, during which the means of easing the tension between the peoples of the two countries were discussed, a source close to the talks has told TASS.
The meeting took place on December 23 and 24 with the participation of the Russian president’s special representative for international cultural cooperation, Mikhail Shvidko. The participants of the meeting discussed the means of easing the tension between the two peoples, and agreed to continue such contacts in early 2022, the source said.
Shvidkoy is one of the quite active representatives of the Azerbaijani lobby in Russia. Months ago, he was in Azerbaijan, during which he met with the country’s leadership and expressed a desire to visit the occupied Armenian city of Shushi in Artsakh.
