23.12.2021 | 18:05The Ministry of Health is discussing the issue of making coronavirus treatment for unvaccinated citizens paid. Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told a briefing today that calculations on treatment costs are under way.
“We are now calculating the cost of treating a coronavirus infection per case. The state has taken all measures to ensure the health of our citizens. But as a result of the development of public immunity, we must understand that the citizens who do not want to use a very effective option – to protect their health at 100 times lower costs, must consider the issue of making it paid,” said the minister.
She also said that the negotiations on the acquisition of the Pfizer vaccine have reached the stage of signing the contract and payment. She added that by the end of 2021, the vaccine will reach Armenia. For that purpose, the government decided to allocate 1.2 billion drams from the state budget to the Ministry of Health to get 200,000 doses.
