23.12.2021 | 14:10The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a letter to Google demanding that Armenian names of Artsakh settlements in Google Maps be replaced by Azerbaijani names, according to Azerbaijani media reports.
The head of the Foreign Ministry’s press service, Leyla Abdullayeva, said Azerbaijan will continue to “take measures to eliminate” Armenian names on the Google maps. She said that Google was told through diplomatic channels that the geographical maps of the Google Maps application “along with the Azeri language also show their distorted names in Armenian.”
A letter was sent to the company’s management regarding the “distorted” toponyms of the Azerbaijani territories. A list of official geographical names of the respective territories of Azerbaijan has been sent to the other side,” Abdullayeva said.
