On December 22, I met with Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, who is on a working visit in Armenia, Armenia’s Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan wrote on his Facebook page.

“During the meeting, we discussed the programs to be implemented during Armenia’s chairmanship in the CSTO. In this context, we have prioritized the joint activities of the CSTO member states in developing a policy against terrorism, extremism, migration security, biological security, and drug trafficking. We exchanged views on contributing to the easing of tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Tajik-Kyrgyz and Tajik-Afghan borders. Here, the CSTO Secretary General stressed the growing likelihood of migration of Afghan refugees to the territories of the CSTO member states, describing it as a migration challenge. I presented the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, emphasizing that it is a challenge of primary importance for Armenia. In this context, we both agreed that early start of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation process is a priority,” Grigoryan wrote.
