The 1974 military map was taken as a basis, Arman Yeghoyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, told journalists in the National Assembly, speaking about the Goris-Kapan road.

“According to that map, Lake Sev is ours,” said Yeghoyan.

To the question whether the Azerbaijanis will leave the territory of the lake after the demarcation, Yeghoyan answered that the whole meaning of the demarcation is that the line should be clarified, there should be one state on one side and another on the other. How, however, added that he is not absolutely sure that Azeris will withdraw though they are supposed to.

“If they don’t withdraw, it will mean that delimitation and demarcation didn’t work,” Yeghoyan said. He said that Armenia is guided by the 1926 map proposed through Russian mediation. According to the map, the territory of the Republic of Armenia is 31,000 square kilometers.
