Putin, Macron discuss Karabakh in phone call

14.12.2021 | 21:05Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emanuel Macron had a telephone conversation on the initiative of the French side, the Kremlin said in a statement.
It said the leaders of the two countries discussed the migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border, the situation around Ukraine, as well as the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
“The situation with the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict was discussed in detail. Vladimir Putin spoke about the key results of the trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in Sochi on November 26. He spoke about the measures being taken to implement the ceasefire in the region, the return of refugees, the restoration of trade and economic ties,” the statement said.
Besides, the parties expressed hope that the meetings of the heads of the EU bodies with Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev in Brussels today would be useful. The parties supported the expediency of intensifying work on as the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
