08.12.2021 | 20:51Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has said he is terminating his treatment at the Gori military hospital. He justified this decision with a protest against “disciplinary measures,” which, according to Saakashvili, were applied to him in the hospital.
In his Facebook post, Saakashvili wrote: “6 hours after this announcement, two employees of the 18th prison entered my cell without permission, in which I identified the participants in my torture. they informed me that because I hit a blood pressure monitor while defending myself meanwhile they promised to perform medical manipulations against my will, the department decided to take disciplinary action against me, which includes restricting meetings and seizing the TV.
After that, my mother, who had all the permission to enter the hospital and visit me, was waiting on the street for about 4 hours, and than she was sent back to Tbilisi. Also, I was not allowed to see my personal doctor for about 1 hour until the hospital administration intervened.
This is their response to the State Inspector’s report. They did not even take pictures that insulted my dignity, but rather took revenge against me.
Therefore, I will stop all medical treatment and will not stop this protest until they implement the decisions of Toloraia’s agency, will not cancel the so-called Take disciplinary action, and will not renew the normal admission of visitors.”
