Ohanyan: You hold Security Council meetings with members of your team only, the National Assembly, especially the opposition, is not aware of many things

“Even today, the government does not address the issues of demarcation, which are so important,” the leader of the National Assembly’s Armenia faction Seyran Ohanyan said in his speech at  the National Assembly today when presenting the draft of the Statement on delimitation and demarcation issues.

Ohanyan stressed that the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, the occupation of the territories of Artsakh, the invasion of the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia by Azerbaijan, the unilateral demarcation-demarcation operations, the loss of the sovereignty of the Republic of Artsakh, is a serious threat to Artsakh’s self-determination and existence.

“And it is obvious that after the war, the government, having all the tools to assess the situation, the activities of its own team, still does not address the issues of demarcation, delimitation, doing everything possible to organize a closed discussion during it. It voted against the version of the submitted statement without giving a new proposal,” he said.

Ohanyan noted that the sensitive issue should be openly discussed; the government avoids making public what is happening behind the people’s backs, contrary to the promise to be accountable.

He said the opposition is not aware of many issues, especially the meetings of the Security Council.
