07.12.2021 | 12:18The UN International Court of Justice is set to deliver judgments in the claims of Armenia and Azerbaijan against each other. The countries accuse each other of violating the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) and take urgent measures, BBC’s Russian Service reported.
Yerevan filed a lawsuit against Baku in October for violating six articles of the International Convention on Racial Discrimination. Armenian presented evidence on the facts of torture and humiliation of Armenian captives and other detainees in Azerbaijan, asking the UN tribunal to take interim measures before ruling on the case, obliging Azerbaijan to release the Armenian prisoners of war and close the “trophy park” in Baku.
Baku has filed a counterclaim in which there are similar accusations against Armenia.
