According to the State Statistical Committee obtained by Factor.am, in January-September of this year, 1, 179,710 people — 548,887 of whom are Armenian citizens — left Armenia. In the same period, 1,112,206 people – 445, 316 of whom are Armenian citizens — entered Armenia. Thus, the difference between the inflow and outflow is 67,504 people, of which 3,571 are Armenian citizens.

As in the past year (2020) there were restrictions on entry and exit to Armenia in different months of the year, we will compare this year’s data with the 2019 data. Accordingly, in January-September 2019, the number of people who entered Armenia was 3,135,506 people, of which 1,666,321 were Armenian citizens. The number of exits was 3,145,363 people, of which,701,870 were Armenian citizens. Note that compared to 2019, arrivals and departure are about three times less. The fact that after 2020 certain restrictions caused by coronavirus are still maintained, and that tourism, according to experts, has not yet been restored, may play a role. It should be noted that as of October 1 of this year, the de jure population in Armenia was 2, 966,800 people, which is 1,100 less than in the same period of the last year. At the beginning of the year, the permanent population of the Republic of Armenia was 2, 963,300 people. That is, in October, compared to the beginning of the year, the number of the permanent population of the Republic of Armenia decreased by about 3,500.
