Court rules to extend former defense minister’s detention

29.11.2021 | 13:04A Yerevan court ruled today to extend Former Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan’s detention for two more months. Initially, Tonoyan was detained for two months on September 30 and since was held at a Yerevan jail.
Tonoyan, who served as defense minister from 2018 to 2020, is accused of embezzling about $4.7 million as well as other crimes. David “Patron Davo” Galstyan, the CEO of the company that supplied ammunition to the military, is also accused in the same case. Both deny any wrongdoing.
