Armenia applies to Russia for assistance in protecting its territorial integrity

As the attack was on the sovereign territory of Armenia, we are appeal to the Russian Federation to protect the territorial integrity of Armenia under the 1997 agreement between Armenia and Russia, the Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, told the First Channel.
When asked whether this is just an oral application or a corresponding procedure is already underway, Armen Grigoryan answered: “This is an oral application, which will have a written procedure too, but we want to inform the public, our partners, that we are starting such a process.”
He said Armenia expects Russia to provide assistance in restoring Armenia’s territorial integrity.” It has been said many times that the state border of Armenia is a “red line” for Russia, and since May 12, Azerbaijan has crossed that “red line.”
“In this regard, we appeal to our ally in order to be able to restore the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia under our allied obligations,” Grigoryan said.
