10.11.2021 | 18:05Azerbaijan is working to include the occupied city of Shushi in the UNESCO network of creative cities, according to Azerbaijani media.
Currently, 295 cities in 90 countries are included in the network of creative cities. No other details of the process are reported. In September, the Azerbaijani culture minister nominated Shushi’s candidacy for 2023 at the 38th meeting of the Turkic Culture (TurkSoy) in Khiva, Uzbekistan, as capital of the Turkic world. Earlier, Azerbaijani President Aliyev signed a decree declaring Armenian Shushi “the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.”
Azerbaijan continues to consistently destroy the Armenian historical, cultural heritage of Shushi, trying to eliminate the Armenian traces from the city. Besides, Azerbaijan obstructs the entry of the UNESCO mission to Artsakh in every possible way.
