Currently, the European Medical Agency is considering an application for certification of a Russian drug in the EU. Four developments have already passed the verification and registration procedure: Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.

In February, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the EU is bewildered at how Russia is using Sputnik V: “We still wonder why Russia theoretically offers millions of doses to other countries but has not made enough progress. in the vaccination of its own population. “

According to the latest reported data, in Russia, which was the first to start mass vaccination, at least one dose of coronavirus vaccination received approx. 5 million people are a few percent of the population. All in all, according to the Institute of Epidemiology. Gamaleas, in the world, “Sputnik” grafted 7 million.

In the UK, meanwhile, vaccination has already reached over 20 million inhabitants (about a third of the population). In the United States, about 70 million people (more than 20% of the population) have received at least one dose. Despite such a difference in the pace of the vaccination campaign, the Russian Direct Investment Fund declares its readiness to provide vaccines to every tenth inhabitant of the planet by the end of the year.
