The Supreme Judiciary Council sees the its task in not only in the area of whether or not to punish judges, but also wants to make decisions that will have a preventive effect on possible violations in the future, Gagik Jhangiryan, the acting chairman of the SJC, said at the discussion titled “The process of judicial reforms in post-revolutionary post-election Armenia.”
“The issue of cleaning and filtering not only the judiciary, but also the law enforcement bodies did not arise in 2018, after the revolution, it arose much earlier. That process should also refer to the attorney system,” said Jhangiryan.
