Wearing mask in open area mandatory from Nov. 1

If until yesterday we could walk on streets without a mask, now the situation is different ․ From today it is mandatory to wear a mask not only indoors but also in open public spaces. Those who refuse to comply with this requirement will be fined 10,000 drams.
Under the minister’s order, children under five, those with chronic respiratory diseases may not wear a mask outside, but they must have a medical document confirming the relevant disease. Masks are not required also when exercising or riding a bicycle. Those TV presenters who work alone in the pavilion are released from the obligation to wear a mask. People with deafness who perceive speech by following the movements of the lips may also not wear a mask. People with mental, behavioral, cognitive disorders, facial injuries or maxillofacial surgery may not wear the mask. It is not necessary to wear a mask while smoking, drinking or eating. Taxi, public transport drivers, passengers, the company serving the route can be fined for not wearing a mask.
