“I see there are people who have started a movement to make coronavirus treatment paid for. They ask, ‘why should we pay taxes so that people are not vaccinated and go for free treatment.’ And I predict that the voice of those people will be louder,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at today’s government meeting.

A source of Factor.am in the government told us that after the meeting Pashinyan held a closed consultation with the members of the government. A preliminary decision was made that from December 1, inpatient treatment for coronavirus for the unvaccinated may become paid. According to our source, the inpatient treatment of one patient from complications of coronavirus disease is at least 700,000 drams (about US 41,500).

At today’s meeting, Pashinyan, addressing the Minister of Health, members of the government and law enforcement bodies, gave strict instructions, referring to the anti-vaccination campaign by some circles.

“Go and solve it, no one can stop us from working, I have set a task, go and solve it, the vaccination numbers are very bad and you should not complain to anyone else. It refers to everyone sitting in the hall when you come and say what kind of worker is afraid to be vaccinated. There should not be a person in the public administration system who has not been vaccinated. Personally, all the first persons are responsible for that. It is enough to sit and complain and not hear such things again,” he said.
