06.10.2021 | 12:29Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL) has started using Armenian airspace to carry passengers from Baku to Nakhichevan, a statement issued by the Azerbaijani air carrier on Wednesday says, TASS reported.
“This step demonstrates our determination to unblock transport links in the region, which is in the interests of all neighboring countries,” the statement said.
According to the airline, the new route will reduce flight time and fuel consumption. AZAL also explained that the routes through Armenia and Iran will be used in parallel.
“From now on, during this flight, AZAL will be able to use all available air corridors, including those passing through Armenia and Iran,” the airline said.
