The symptoms of coronavirus this fall are significantly different from the previous waves of COVID-19, at the beginning of the disease it can easily be confused with a cold or flu. As a result, new symptoms appear, and the disease becomes more rapid, a story in the Russian newspaper Gazeta says. Thus, experts call a new symptom of coronavirus infection a cold, which develops very quickly ․ Pneumonia occurs on the 3rd day, not on the 7th day, as before. In the first days of the disease, patients with coronavirus have acute flu-like symptoms: sore throat, high fever. To this can be added dizziness and loss of sense of smell. Both symptoms indicate virus damage to the central nervous system, doctors said.
“Runny nose, sore throat, sweating, fast-growing and long-lasting, with a large number of sputum. The fever behaves like the flu, but lasts longer. Significant neurological symptoms are dizziness, headache, weakness. When trying to climb sharply, fainting is possible, damage to the central nervous system is registered. All these symptoms do not appear at once, at most on the second day, they continue for weeks,” explained Dr. Alexander Ediger.
