Artak Davtyan to be appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces

10.03.2021 | 13:45Today, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan submitted a motion to the President of the Republic to appoint Artak Davtyan to the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The information was confirmed by Pashinyan’s spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan in a conversation with Armtimes.am. We were informed by the President that they have not received the mediation yet. It should be reminded that Davtyan also held the post of Chief of General Staff from May 24, 2018, to June 8, 2020. Then until November 11, 2020, he was the chairman of the Military-Industrial Committee. By the decision of the Minister of Defense yesterday, Davtyan was appointed Senior Officer for Special Assignments. Earlier today, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that the head of the General Staff, Onik Gasparyan, is legally dismissed.
