In Japan, the number of anaphylaxis cases has risen from 100 to 17.000 after the Pfizer vaccine. This is more than in Western countries, said Taro Kono, Japan’s Minister of Administrative Reforms, who is in charge of vaccinations, RIA Novosti reports.

“Compared to Western countries, the number of cases with such an allergic reaction is higher,” Kyodo quoted the minister.

Speaking in a parliamentary committee, the minister said that by the end of Tuesday, 107.500 people in the country had been vaccinated against COVID-19, 17 of which had an anaphylactic shock.

On Tuesday, 8 cases of anaphylaxis were reported, which were registered from March 5th to 8th. According to Japan’s Ministry of Health, the allergic reaction was registered within 5 to 30 minutes after receiving the vaccine. On March 9, 9 such cases were registered. During anaphylactic shock, there is an acceleration and difficulty of breathing, swelling of the eyelids, rash, low blood pressure. In all cases, the reaction has been seized, despite all the obstacles.
