“The PACE report equates Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Davit Amiryan, Deputy Director of the Open Society Foundations – Armenia, said at the discussion on “The Significance and Consequences of the Resolution Adopted by the PACE.”
“From the beginning, we tried to fight against that balance, but it is very difficult to force politicians to change the approach. It should be noted that our delegation managed to change some provisions, but on many global issues the mark of equality has remained. The report mentions the commitments made by both sides to be fulfilled, but in reality there is a very important question: who started the war? And the authors could have made references to say that the war was started by Azerbaijan, but they did not touch upon it,” Amiryan said.
